“I never tired of God’s stories. The truth of the story was always fresh and, despite repetition, always new.”

On our best backpacking trips, there are those moments when we’ve been trudging along for what seems like forever. Back sore. Feet tired. Kids have found new and exciting ways to voice their complaints thoughts. And then the forest opens up and you catch a view that Instagram could never do justice and you think, “That was worth it…”
This year feels like one of those moments. After twelve years of putting Charlotte Mason’s method into practice, our oldest is graduating high school. (That’s one down and three to go). Seventeen years in, I’m still privileged to be pastoring Water City Church, the church we planted in Oshkosh, WI. It’s also a joy to say, “Amy and I are celebrating twenty-five years”. There’s still plenty of trail ahead, but for the moment this view sure feels “worth it”.
